Vershire Food Project

Promoting good, affordable, local food for all

The Vershire Food Committee was formed at the 2003 VerShare Annual Meeting.   Since then, the committee has been working to develop ways to make good, affordable local food available to all Vershire residents.  Some of the ideas include community meals, food-buying clubs, a food shelf including locally grown foods, community gardens, youth projects, school programs, food storage, farmers market/gardeners exchange and food for sale at the Made-In-Vershire Shop.

Community Soup Nights - On Vacation

Please Note:  Soup Night has gone on an indefinite vacation.  But there is now Family Pizza and Movie Night for all to enjoy.

As part of the food initiative, VerShare hosts Community Soup Nights at the Church-Orr House on the third Thursday of every month, from 5:30 - 6:30.  The fare includes a variety of soups, with a lot of locally grown ingredients, salad and bread.  Everyone is invited.  There is no charge for the meal, but donations are accepted.
