Trip to Montreal 2010
An excited group of seven Vershire teens and their four
guides headed out for a long weekend in Montreal on Friday, July 9.
The weekend was jam-packed with activities, including: a swim in Lac
Massawippi, shopping and eating in Le Plateau, ice cream in Pointe Claire,
a visit to the Musee Pointe a Caillere, a walking tour of Old Montreal,
shopping in the famous underground city, a ride on the Metro, a film in a
home theater, fireworks (the unanimous highlight), the lookout on Mont
Royal, Marche Maisonneuve, and the Biosphere on Ile Ste. Helene. The
consensus low point was the border crossing getting back into the U.S.,
but that was resolved amicably with the officers.
Many thanks to Lynn Roy for initiating the trip, tour
guide Sam Moffatt, chaperone Brook Stewart, and van driver John Roy.
