Mornings Week 1 (July 14-18)
Exploring Vershire and Beyond - Lynn Roy
Gardens, farm animals, horses and bread on field trips in and around
Vershire. Harvest food from the camp gardens, see farm animals, visit a
bakery, and ride a horse at the Vershire Riding School.
Native American Program - Patty Manning
Join Patty in exploring mother Earth through Native American stories,
songs, activities, natural crafts and games.
Maps and Places: Where are we? - Elicia Whittlesey
We'll explore map reading, compasses, make our own maps of our special
places, use natural landmarks, create a group ground map with natural
materials. Star mapping on Friday overnight at camp!
Afternoons Week 1
Children will work in their tent groups to create a “backyard” camp
in the lower meadow of the Town Center property. Age appropriate
activities for these afternoon sessions will include:
- Tent making fire pit building compass use
- River exploration outdoor cooking map making
- Building a swimming hole exploring the woods hiking
- Making a fishing pole crafts from nature learning about wildlife
- Learning where the fish are fort building

18th!
Bring your family to spend the night at the Town Center,
after the all-camp potluck. Use the tents you’ve built and
share your new skills! Campfire fun with star-gazing and
stories. |
Mornings Week 2 (July 21-25)
Vermont History - Gary Goodrich and Kathy Young
Learn about the history of Vershire, visit a working printing press, and
go on a field trip to the Justin Morrill VT Historical site in
Strafford.
Forest Mice - Amanda Brief
Imitating the little critters, we will follow streams, learn about
animals and plants, and play! Join us as we scamper, peek, explore,
touch, play, see, and adventure.
Art from Natural and Recycled Materials - Dawn Crowley
In this workshop you will learn that there is beauty, art and function
in everything!

On Wednesday, July 23rd, all Chipmunk
campers will go an all day field trip to the Chimney Point
Historical site in Addison, VT. Located at the southern tip
of Lake Champlain, the site presents the stories of the
Native Americans, French Colonial and early American
cultures. Children will be able to handle pre-contact stone
tools, jewelry, and game pieces, use an atlatl (spear
thrower) and reproduction spears. |
